Its Baseball Season!!

Finally got around to blogging after like weeks!!! Been so wrapped up with an impromptu exhibition which I was so totally not ready for........ BUT somehow with a little bit of magic and family love was able to pull it off! So yay! That was my very first experience of putting up a stall, selling my crochet stuff and this is the worst part.... managing the accounts ;-(.... I swear i'm just no good at that! lol! Anyways was good fun and yes I learned a whole load of things and made a whole load of friends.

So today i'm gonna share my Baseball collection I made for a little Mauritian baby boy who is due any time soon ;-)

Its become one of my favourites and now i'm wishing I had my very own little baseball player....... but for now I shall make do with 2 little princesses. I made a matching cardigan to go with it and it proudly sports a BIG NUMBER 2. My little To-be- Baseball player already has a big brother
.

So that's it My baseball Collection ;-)........hhhhhmmmm should i do a football collection???

Experiments with Bamboo Cotton!

Okay so as promised here's my Moda Vera Bamboo Cotton Camisole. Pretty excited about it and cant stop looking at it ;-). Many crocheters don't like working with bamboo cotton cause the threads keep unraveling but somehow i didn't have that problem, it was quite enjoyable and the texture was so soft that it didn't  hurt my fingers like some yarns do. So for this cami i used 3 1/2 50gms balls of Moda Vera color no:19, with a 4mm crochet hook.I followed a pattern from lovestitch , there's a translated version from a graph and that helped a lot.... the border edging is different....i wanted something more simple and less bulky. And voila! My summer cami is ready, it took me a day and a half to complete.... not bad eh?!
So after my hook ate up all by lovely bamboo cotton, i had a half ball left.... well i had only 4 balls to start out with!  There was this pretty free pattern of a bamboo clutch on the ball wrapping I decided to try out. Of course i ran short of the cotton yarn and had to modify the pattern......... and this is what i came up with!!!

A double layer of pink felt lining sewed in to stiffen it up,  a copper button to embellish the front closure and a magnetic clasp on the inside and my clutch is ready to go!! AND that's the last of my Bamboo cotton! So till i get another stash of them its back to acrylics and mercerised cottons.

Post Easter Scenario

Now Easter is finally over! Whew! And with it all the choir practices, sore throats and nerves. Not to mention the running around to fill up Easter goody bags for 10 kids!!! Yup! 10 Kids- 8 nieces and 2 daughters. Didn't get around to baking little teddy bear cupcakes as i planned.... but maybe i'll save it for Christmas....just maybe.

So now i'm back to crocheting after a small little Easter break. But what i'm most excited was my new stash of yarns from Vera moda and Patons!!!! Just couldn't resist whipping up a cami for myself in Vera moda's Bamboo Cotton -color no 19. Will upload a pic of my brand new cami soon, but first to share a pic of my gorgeous yarns ;-)

Thanks to my sis from Down Under, these gorgeous yarns are mine to do with as i please!!!! Hurrah!!!!Only wish we had such an awesome variety here ;-(.

Anyways so in addition to my yarns i also got some beautiful grosgrain and satin ribbons which i'm absolutely thrilled about and just had to use up some in a headband.

Aren't those white daisies dainty or what?! It just went perfectly with my blue green scheme.
So now i'm off heading to bed to join my girls who are fast asleep with one very tired and knocked out husband. So until my next post, adios!!!
